B Flat Continuum is preparing its first vocal masterclass project in Seoul for spring 2027.

The project will be led by Prof. Brigitte Wohlfarth and will masterclasses, 1:1 lessons, opera coaching, Lied and art song interpretation, and diction work.

B Flat Continuum은 2027년 봄, 서울에서 첫 성악 마스터클래스 프로젝트를 준비하고 있습니다.

본 프로젝트는 Prof. Brigitte Wohlfarth의 지도로 진행되며, 마스터클래스, 1:1 개인레슨, 오페라 코칭, 리트와 예술가곡 해석, 딕션 작업을 포함할 예정입니다.

Prof. Brigitte Wohlfarth is a dramatic soprano and voice professor with an extensive international career in opera, concert, recital and vocal education. She began her vocal studies in Würzburg and continued her artistic development with James King in Munich. Her career started as a sought-after oratorio and recital singer, leading to appearances at major festivals and concert venues including the Rheingau Musik Festival, Mozartfest Würzburg and Bregenzer Festspiele.

Her opera career began in 1993 with the world premiere of Grigori Frid’s Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank in Nuremberg. She later appeared as a finalist at the international Neue Stimmen competition and became a soloist at Staatstheater Braunschweig. Since then, she has performed on numerous international opera stages, including Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Munich National Theatre and theatres in Berlin, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Meiningen.

Her repertoire includes major roles by Wagner, Richard Strauss, Verdi, Beethoven, Puccini, Rossini, Mozart and Weber, including Isolde, Brünnhilde, Sieglinde, Elsa, Salome, Elektra, Arabella, Aida, Leonore, Turandot, Desdemona and Fiordiligi.

Since 2015, Prof. Wohlfarth has been Professor of Voice at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig. She previously served as Professor of Classical Voice at Hochschule der Künste Bern from 2010 to 2015 and was also an accredited professor at Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland from 2017 to 2025.

Alongside her stage career, she gives international masterclasses, serves on juries, founded the operetta series Operette für Genießer, and is increasingly active as a stage director.

Prof. Brigitte Wohlfarth는 오페라, 콘서트, 리트 및 성악 교육 분야에서 국제적으로 폭넓게 활동해 온 드라마틱 소프라노이자 성악 교수입니다.

독일 Würzburg에서 성악을 공부했으며, Richard Wagner-Verband와 Leni-Geissler-Stiftung의 장학금을 받았습니다. 이후 뮌헨에서 James King과의 공부를 통해 예술적·성악적 방향에 큰 영향을 받았습니다.

그녀는 오라토리오와 리트 가수로 커리어를 시작했으며, Rheingau Musik Festival, Mozartfest Würzburg, Bregenzer Festspiele, Weilburger Schlosskonzerte, International Music Days Bad Urach 등 주요 음악제와 공연 무대에서 활동했습니다. 또한 밀라노, 로마, 뮌헨, 베를린, 라이프치히, 잘츠부르크, 런던, 싱가포르, 베이징 등 유럽과 아시아, 호주의 여러 주요 도시에서 연주했습니다.

오페라 커리어는 1993년 뉘른베르크에서 Grigori Frid의 오페라 Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank 세계 초연으로 시작되었습니다. 같은 해 국제 성악 콩쿠르 Neue Stimmen 파이널리스트로 이름을 알렸으며, 이후 Staatstheater Braunschweig에서 Rossini의 Otello 중 Desdemona 역으로 데뷔해 1997년까지 전속 솔리스트로 활동했습니다.

이후 이탈리아 Napoli Teatro San Carlo, Palermo Teatro Massimo, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Tbilisi National Opera House, Munich National Theatre, Festspiele Erl, Opernfestspiele Heidenheim을 비롯해 Berlin, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Lübeck, Trier, Halle, Meiningen 등 다수의 국제 오페라 무대에 초청되어 활동했습니다.

주요 레퍼토리는 Wagner, Richard Strauss, Verdi, Beethoven, Puccini, Rossini, Mozart, Weber의 작품을 폭넓게 아우르며, Isolde, Brünnhilde, Sieglinde, Elsa, Elisabeth, Gutrune, Salome, Elektra, Arabella, Ariadne, Aida, Leonore, Turandot, Desdemona, Fiordiligi, Agathe 등 주요 배역을 노래했습니다.

Prof. Wohlfarth는 2010년부터 2015년까지 스위스 Hochschule der Künste Bern에서 성악과 교수로 재직했으며, 2015년부터 독일 Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig에서 성악과 교수로 재직하고 있습니다. 또한 2017년부터 2025년까지 스위스 Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences에서 accredited professor로 활동했습니다.

연주자와 교육자로서의 활동 외에도 세계 여러 나라에서 마스터클래스를 진행해 왔으며, 주요 심사위원으로 활동했습니다. 또한 자체 오페레타 시리즈 Operette für Genießer를 창설했고, 최근에는 연출가로서도 활동 영역을 넓히고 있습니다.
